When Is A Bracelet Not Considered Jewelry?

When it is a Medic Alert bracelet. The rules explicitly state that the wearing of jewelry is not allowed. But, Rule 3, Article 7 specifically speaks to medical alert bracelets. It allows them to be worn during a game, but they must be taped. In high school games, I have seen them taped down so that just the face of the medical alert tag shows, but the band is taped down around the wrist. This is acceptable.
